    The Position

    JMI is looking for a highly skilled Digital Projects Manager to join our team. It is a multifaceted, engaging position and we require a candidate that is able to manage and develop JMI’s unique portfolio of digital assets, with a specific focus on JMI’s Mubazar* platform.

    The candidate will be responsible for managing a team of external developers and designers, overseeing project planning and communication between all parties to achieve maximum efficiency and results. The role requires the creation and management of processes, documentation, writing user stories and technical requirements for the development team, along with assigning tasks, managing and prioritising project backlogs and feature requests.

    You will be required to test all new development and manage quality assurance before rollout, which will also include bug reporting. You will be the first point of contact for new and existing users, provide support, and communicate any issues to your team. You will be responsible for onboarding new users, assist the internal communications team for any marketing needs, and could be required to do public presentations and talks.

    The candidate is expected to deliver, on time, innovative work that meets top international standards. The candidate should be well organised and results-driven, and handle well under pressure. A proven track record working in the start-up/tech industry is a necessity. The candidate should preferably have a background in music.

    The position is based in Brussels with potential travel opportunities year.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • You will be responsible for all project planning, strategic decision making and managing of a small outsourced (off-site) team of developers and designers.
    • Creation and management of documentation, writing user stories and technical requirements for the development team, along with assigning tasks as well as managing and prioritising the project backlog and feature requests.
    • You will be required to test all new development and manage quality assurance before rollout, which will also include logging bug tickets and testing bug fixes.
    • As head of JMI’s digital projects, you will be the first point of contact for new and existing users, provide support, and communicate any issues to your team.
    • You will be responsible for onboarding new users, assist the internal communications team for any marketing needs, and could be required to do public presentations and talks.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Project management experience within a tech/startup environment.
    • Experience as a team leader with problem-solving skills.
    • Clear communication skills in English as you will be working as part of an international team.
    • The ability to work independently and self-manage your time and task priorities along with those of your team is essential.
    • Experience working with Agile Methodology and Lean Startup is a big plus.
    • Experience with CMS system including Wordpress and Wix.
    • 3-5 Years work experience or the vocational equivalent.
    • Relevant Tertiary Education
    • Excellent English, written and spoken.
    • You will need to be available to travel internationally.

    • The position is half-time, based at the JMI Office in Brussels, Belgium.
    • JMI is looking for international candidates, who are able to work from Brussels, Belgium by the beginning of March 2020. (Relocation costs and costs of separate life are not covered by the employer.)
    • An initial time-based contact of 6 months will be given to the selected candidate after which the employee will be evaluated and the contract extended should the employer be satisfied with the work result.
    • Additional benefits include hospitalisation insurance, mobile phone expenses, meal vouchers (€8 per working day) and local transport costs.
    • The candidate must be willing and able to travel abroad at least 2-3 times per year.
    • The contract runs until the 31st of December 2021, and will be extended should funding continue.
