YAMawards 2017: Nominees Announcement

We are thrilled to announce the nominees of the 2017 edition of the Young Audiences Music Awards.

The YAMawards nominees 2017 have been chosen amongst 60 productions from 17 different countries. The choice was extremely difficult but the international jury has nominated these 12 top productions:

Different (UK)

Ihmepoika A (Finland)
Lamento (South Africa)


From these 12 nominees the jury will select the Best Small EnsembleBest Large Ensemble and Best Opera (powered by RESEO, the European Network for Opera and Dance Education) for young audiences.

The YAMawards will also crown the prestigious “Production of the Year" and the “Public Choice Award” which comes from the online vote where you can participate! You can now watch the trailers of the nominees’ productions online and vote for your favourite. The public voting is open online at yamawards.org and you can vote until September 4th at 17:00 CET.

The winners will be announced at the YAMawards Ceremony that will take place in Porto, Portugal on the 4th of September 2017 during the YAMsession event. YAMsession is an annual international conference for creative professionals working in the field of young audiences development. 

Organised in a different country every year, YAMsession includes showcases of the best young audiences productions from Europe and the world, a dynamic Producers Forum and a wide range of thought provoking presentations and discussions from international speakers.
