Music Crossroads will host its 4th international choral workshop in Lilongwe between 20 to 24 February. The sessions are facilitated by trainers from Spain and they are free for everyone.
The training programme had started in 2010 with the aim to empower choirs and is open to anyone interested in learning the basics of music. It's targetting choral groups because most musicians in the Malawi launch their careers through these kind of groups.
"All we are doing is penetrating the grassroots, we want choir members to have an idea of music because many have little knowledge and at the same time we want to build better musicians," said Gayighayi Mfune, Music Crossroads' Director in an interview for The Daily Times.
Music Crossroads has been instrumental in unearthing talent in South-East Africa as well as building several groups.
