In the past 10 years a special Ethno Prize was established to recognize the talent and skills in playing a traditional instrument. This year’s prize was given to Rutendo Machiridza of Savannah Afros (Zimbabwe) who had an amazing performance and showed a great versatility and skill in playing different local instruments. She was awarded a European trip and she will bring the sounds and flavors of Zimbabwe to this year’s Ethno Sweden and Ethno Croatia!

Music Crossroads International (MCI) is a unique youth empowerment through music program initiated in 1995 by Jeunesses Musicales International (JMI). The program provides young people aged between 15 and 25 in 5 Southern African countries musical opportunities and exposure, in addition to training in music and life skills.
