Europe's largest festival for young audiences

25 October 2015 - 16:57 27 October 2015

The 2015 festival will take place on 25-27 October in Billund, also known as capital of children and home town of Lego and the original Legoland.

30 concert productions in one town
Musik i Tide Festival introduces a selection of the professional music groups provided by LMS to Danish schools in the coming season. Each concert is combined with a set of educational materials, allowing the art experience to become an integral part of the everyday life of school and children.

Aside from concerts, the festival also offers workshops and lectures in Danish as well as in English, and ample networking opportunitties for the many participants - national as well as international - from schools, and culture and music professionals.

Musik i Tide Festival 2015 has increased international scope in that Researcher Chris Rogers from Tufts University in Boston will come to Billund to do a research project with the local schools. The main aim of the the project is to examine a connection between innovative work with art and music and the acquisition of new competencies, allowing the students to improve their school subject skills as well as their social and creative skills.

In addition to this, Musik i Tide Festival 2015 is also part of the international Blackboard Music Project, a development and exchange project aimed at increasing the quality and quantity of concerts for Young Audiences in Europe, run by LMS.
The festival will have a project delegation visiting with partner representatives from seven different European countries, who will experience what Danish school concerts have to offer.

Blackboard Music Project is supported by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
