With the "Laboratory of Excellence”, Jeunesses Musicales Germany offers a high-quality coaching for young opera singers on their way to a professional career. At the end of August for the third time, 20 young singers and accompanists from all over Europe took part in this very special masterclass. Highlight was the final concert, a little glittering opera Gala at the Historic Museum in Frankfurt.

“I'm leaving with enthusiasm and endless emotions”, “great experience”, “the best stage I ever did – so helpful in every way” – these are some of the excited feedbacks for Hedwig Fassbender, professor at the Music Conservatory Frankfurt/Main and the Italian conductor Fausto Nardi, who both developed the idea and concept for this masterclass. Together with a team of international renowned instructors they now taught and coached the participants in technique and style and how to get an artist's profile. They also gave them valuable career advice.

The Laboratory of Excellence conveys different approaches of interaction and enables young singers and accompanists for an effective teamwork. In an intense dialogue, quasi like in a laboratory, the singer can find artistic sovereignty and easiness, which is necessary for a great performance. The master-lessons as well as the interaction with colleagues from different countries once again encouraged young talents to go beyond their own boundaries and limitations – an important step for them to find their individual artistic identity and to be successful in music business.
