Connecting through traditional music

EthnoFonik is an international project of training for artistic directors who accompany Ethno projects (traditional music). It took place in Evry, France from 18th to 29th November 2015 with participants from 6 European countries

With musical activities, activities of youth groups of animation, and reflection, as well as concerts and master classes, participants experienced active participation throughout the training different roles: "teachers" and "learners" and "artistic companions". The aim was to enable them to acquire a wide range of knowledge and skills needed to mentor young musicians of several backgrounds and to be involved in the transmission of their own musical culture orally, and to start projects with local publics.

Then on stage, a temporary orchestra. Musicians from Sweden, Belgium, England, Portugal, Germany and France between 20 and 35 played the bagpipes, Celtic harp or violin ... They did not know it two weeks ago, but since then, from morning to night, they arranged the songs from their musical traditions to offer to curious ears two unique concerts and a joyous journey through the European music.

A project presented by the French association Alors On Le Fait, under the European Erasmus + program, Youth Sector, in partnership with the Ethno network of Jeunesses Musicales International and the Metropolitan area of Evry Centre Essonne, the Traditional Music Center / Youth Cultural Center of Ris Orangis , the the Agora Theatre of  Evry and Youth Cultural Center Boby Lapointe of Villebon-sur-Yvette.
