2017 issues in a new era for JM Spain. A new board lead by Mr. Miquel Cuenca has taken the reigns over from Mr. Jordi Roch, whose successful 53 year career as President of JM Spaincame to an end in January this year. The new board includes two young Vice-Presidents, singer Pablo Gálvez and composer Gerard Figueres both under 30 years old. Furthermore, some experienced members from the previous board will stay on, so to ensure a positive continuation from one generation to the next.

JM Spain will also have a greater presence in Madrid and have set up a new office in the capital with the aim of generating new partnerships and working with other cultural organisations. At the same time they will continue to be present in Barcelona where they have had their headquarters for more than 5 decades.

One of the first projects the new board managed was the 87 Concurso Permanente (their national competitions). The edition was held in April at the Superior Conservatory of Madrid with a large success, having achieved record participation numbers and a very high musical level.

JM International wishes Mr. Roch all the best for the future and would like to thank him for his wonderful years of service to both JM Spain and JM International, where he served as President from 1983 to 1992. Mr. Roch is now an Honorary President of the international JM movement.
