JM Norway hosted the annual JMI Global: BOOST conference and 72nd AGA!

JM Norway hosted the annual JMI Global which included the BOOST conference on technology and equality in music and the 72nd Annual General Assembly!

At this year's conference happening at JMI Global - BOOST - two important topics concerning music today were discussed: The impact of new technology and the work on gender equality in that very field.

Renowned academics, musicians and technologists shared their insights on the challenges and possibilities new technology brings to the work on gender equality. Music streaming, censorship, creativity, gender-gap, young composers... are just an example of the thematic variety of the 2017 edition.

Through engaging talks, panel debates and workshops participants discussed how new technology changes the field of music and how it affects the work on gender equality. Don’t miss out the results of this relevant and inspiring conference. To access the full program please visit www.boost2017.com

Additionally, during the sessions of the 72nd AGA of JM International, delegates from our national members and associate members were updated on last year's progress of the organisation, discussed future plans for development and accepted six new associate members of JM International: the Finnish Folk Musicians Association, the List fyrir all Iceland, the Music Harvest Ireland, the International cultural center Tedika DR Congo, the Voluntary Development Association Uganda and the Tandem Collective CIC England.

We would like to congratulate JM Norway for a wonderfully organised event and are looking forward to next year's edition of the JMI Global in São Paulo, Brazil, in June 2018.
