MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation

MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation (MS TCDC), a state-of-the-art development management training institution, located in Usa River, Arusha in northern Tanzania. Established in 1967, MS TCDC has gained a reputation for high quality training of civil society organizations and their partners, donors, and government agencies. In addition to Swahili language courses, MS TCDC offers a range of short-term training courses for international development practitioners as well as accredited certificate programs, diplomas, bachelor’s, and master’s programs. MS TCDC is also a convening space, knowledge sharing and learning hub that attracts various interest groups – academia, civil society, youth, artists, activists, public servants - who are passionate in popular struggles for transformed, just, democratic and a sustainable world. In this light, it runs a number of programs such as the Youth Leadership Development Program and the Knowledge, Art and Networking (KAN) Festival. 

About Knowledge Art and Networking (KAN) Festival: Established in 2018, the KAN Festival, is Africa’s one-of-a-kind convening where youth, activists, movement leaders, academia, artists, policy makers, private sector, thought leaders and development practitioners, come together to assess Africa’s development journey and thereafter design actionable next steps to driving systemic change on the continent. KAN Festival is the continents platform to explore practical ways of understanding and appreciating each other’s role in, and committing to contribution to holistic development in its various manifestations. Over the past two years (2019 and 2020), this platform has convened critical conversations in forms of dialogues, workshops and artistic presentations about climate change, gender, culture and identity, language and so forth at the festival’s home in MS TCDC, Usa River, Arusha, Tanzania.
