Thousands of young people from all over Europe will gather in Strasbourg (France) between the 9th and 10th of June 2023 for the 5th edition of the #EYE2023 (European Youth Event).
The biggest edition of EYE yet will flood Strasbourg with young people from all over Europe to tackle the greatest challenges facing this generation. It is an opportunity to reconnect youth with Europe’s institutions, open dialogue and discussions, express opinions as well as through their music, and nevertheless celebrate all steps forward towards a better world!
To serve an incredible audience of engaged European youth, the European Parliament has partnered with JM International to find and support the best new European musical acts, providing a unique platform to be discovered by future fans.
Solo artists and bands from EU member states, EFTA countries, candidate countries and former EU members are invited to enter the 2023 edition of the European Emerging Bands Contest. As the EYE is all about empowering youth, all members of the applying groups must be under the age of 30. Jury members will seek out artists who bring a unique vibe that can connect with a young, diverse European audience. Your music should appeal to a wide range of people and even better if your songs contribute to raising awareness of issues facing your generation, whether climate change or gender equality, social inclusion or mental health, from democratic participation to peace... we wanna hear bands with something to say!
We will be selecting 6 wonderful up-and-coming European bands/artists and will cover all their expenses including getting to and from the event and their stay in Strasbourg, from the 8th to the 11th of June. Moreover, winners can look forward to coaching sessions with professionals, as preparations before the EYE2023 and follow-up evaluation after. Additionally, each winner will receive a cash prize of €800!
Applications are open from the 13th of February until the 10th of April. A jury composed of representatives from JM International and the European Parliament will select up to 30 finalists after which our Youth Jury of under 30 musicians and young people from several European countries will select the final 5 winners. One award will be reserved for 1 band/act from Ukraine, in support of young talents from the region currently being disrupted by war and conflict. Last but not least, the 6th winner will be chosen by a local Strasbourg youth jury in collaboration with the City of Strasbourg!
The opportunity of your life awaits you, so look no further and show the world who you are!
